Emergency Courses Now - Posted 15th December 2005.

Two specialist courses are now on offer at Howdon dealing specifically with emergency procedures and programming of gas escapes.

A four and a half day course is now operating for contractors to enable them to carry out Emergency Service Provider duties and is designed to ensure staff are aware of and know how to follow all emergency procedures and priorities. It includes sessions on the use of gas detection equipment, locating and avoiding underground apparatus, and dealing with gas escape procedures. A full practical assessment throughout the course and multi-choice questionnaires are used to test the level of learning of people undertaking the course.

The second course over half a day is to assist trainees with the skills and knowledge required to properly programme public reported gas escapes. A written test is used to assess the trainees' progress.

If you are interested in either of these courses, contact Tracey Butler, Business Development Manager on 0191 262 3040 - e-mail: butler_tracey@btconnect.com
