| Introduction | This 5 day course is designed for those Gas / Plumbing operatives who often work on electrical components associated with domestic gas systems. |
| Aims | To enable course participants to become familiar with the electrical components associated with domestic gas systems and to establish a systematic approach to fault diagnosis and adopting a competent and safe working practice. |

| Content |
º Demonstrate an understanding of electrical principles and units. º Identify a wide range of electrical equipment and devices and understand the principle of operation in relation to: thermostats, timers, valves and ignition controls etc. º Carry out correct terminations and connections of cables And be aware of current carrying capacities. º Practice safe working methods in connection with fault finding procedures. º Use electrical multi meter and test equipment effectively and safely to test components & circuits including preliminary checks, polarity checks, earth continuity tests etc. º To identify and understand the importance for main Equipotential bonding and cross bonding as detailed in IEE Regulations 16th edition. º To consider the various safety aspects and devices including rcd's, mcb's and fuses etc. |
